Donate button visibility

Post by akirauler »

I just donated to PE. Yayy!
Someone else has noticed the same which I came across as well: viewtopic.php?p=45743#p45743

The donate button only shows for logged-in users and has to be found from the about page which is usually not a place for the problem solvers to go after day 1.

Could this be changed?

Thank you for your donation.

The placement of the donation button is quite intentional. We do not ask for or expect donations from any of our members and do not feel it is appropriate to make it highly visible. After being a member for quite some time, some members have sought a way to show their appreciation. Some do this by contributing to problem development and occasionally some choose to make a donation. A natural place to look would be the About page, and upon reading the through the Q&As they will find an opportunity to make a donation if they wish to do so.

Excellent answer. Thank you. I hope this clarifies the design for those that will search for this design choice in the future as well as it did for me.
