The thread title says it all. When did it become the default for new accounts to be private? I know that back when I started it wasn’t the default.
I was wondering because I was wondering how it affects the statistics.
When did it become the default for new accounts to be private?

Re: When did it become the default for new accounts to be private?
We never changed any the status of any existing accounts from public to private, but some time ago we did make it default for all new accounts to start as private.

What I was asking was, when was it made default for all new accounts to start private? I think it was in 2019, but I would greatly appreciate it if someone knows the specific date on which the change was made.

Coincidently, it appears to have happened on 20 July 2020, exactly three years ago today!
