Misleading title for Problem 001

Post by nitrix »

Hello,

Problem 001 is titled "Multiples of 3 and 5" but the specifications in the description wants "multiples of 3 or 5".

This seems like a mistake and could be misleading to newcomers trying out Project Euler for their very first time.

Explanation:
15 is a multiple of 3 or 5. In fact, it's a multiple of both 3 and 5 so either ones being true satisfies the logical OR.
meanwhile
10 is also a multiple of 3 or 5, because it's a multiple of 5, so it satisfies the logical OR, but wouldn't satisfy a logical AND.

The title should probably be updated.

Cheers,

The phrase could be an ellipsis for "Multiples of 3 and (multiples of) 5", but you make a very good point. It is always best to remove ambiguity wherever possible, so I've modified according to your suggestion. Thank you for pointing it out.

It's peculiar that it hasn't been mentioned until now.
