my problems list has an error
Hi
when i log in my problems list is incorrect, and moreover when i click a given problem from the problems page it takes me to a different problem. The system has the no of problems i have done right but its not working otherwise. I hope my details have not been lost or corrupted cos i love Euler and don't want to have to re enter all the solutions
many thanks
Luke

Yep there is a gremlin there.
If you sort on difficulty the list is not working properly.
if you sort on problem ID the list is working OK I think.

Thanks for bringing the problem to my attention, luke.dunn. And good spot, Hans; it allowed me to realise what the problem was instantly and fix it.

Re: my problems list has an error
Dear Euler et al,
I think your latest fix still has issues. My Unsolved sorted by ID list is correct, but when I sort by Difficulty I am getting both Solved and Unsolved problems. The correct number of unsolved problems, which for me is 18
display, but not the correct problems.
Specifically:
Unsolved, By ID 140 144 147 149 150 153 154 159 160 161 163 165 167 170 171 172 175 177 (Correct)
Unsolved, By Difficulty 173 128 126 149 158 166 150 147 160 157 172 156 153 171 167 163 176 177 (Incorrect)
I hope this helps your diagnosis.
Again, many thanks for this wonderful website, and your constant improvements (and of late your heroic efforts to keep it going against a balky server and/or service provider.) All is greatly appreciated!

Re: my problems list has an error
It's the same problem as with the links...solved/last post/posts are still sorted by ID.

Re: my problems list has an error
Hello again,
More analysis I've done on this problem (easier than solving the remaining math puzzles!)
1. ONLY the Difficulty sorts are faulty.
2. Ascending and Descending sorts display exactly the same list, in inverse order.
3. The problems that display in error do so on each of the three filters, All, Solved and Unsolved.
4. Even though Green check marks and Last Post names display and appear clickable on the ones marked Solved incorrectly, security is NOT breached. I get the error message "You do not have access to that thead!"
My specific problems listing in error:
Unsolved problems displaying as Solved:
140 144 154 159 161 165 170 175 177
Solved problems displaying as Unsolved:
126 128 156 157 158 166 173 177
I hope this data helps -- feel free to contact me for testing etc.
The fact that no answers are exposed inappropriately leads me to encourage you not to feel time-constrained on finding a solution -- we do, after all, have access to all our problems and appropriate solution forums!
When your work backlog diminishes, note the typo in your message above (thead = thread) and also on the problem list page (Sort prolems by = Sort problems by)
And then please let us know how to (at least) treat you to your beverage of choice -- or sleep tonic!

Re: my problems list has an error
As I see it, the check marks, last comment, and # of comments entries in the problem list do not change when you sort by difficulty.
For instance, I have solved problems 1-50 and problem 52. When I switch from ordering by ID to ordering by difficulty, the first 50 problems in the difficulty list are shown as solved, as is the 52nd. The 52nd entry is problem #63, which I have not solved but which has the check mark (because I solved #52). The 53rd entry is problem #38, which I have solved but which does not have the check mark (because I have not solved #53).
I hope that makes sense and helps debug this issue.

Re: my problems list has an error
Hi guys, and thanks for all the feedback. I think I've fixed it now. Could you please check it out and let me know?
Cheers!
P.S. @Ted: Thanks for pointing out the typos; it was a lot easier to fix them.

Solved is correct, the link in Last Post is correct, but the text of Last Post and Posts are still wrong.

Looks good.
Now if only the site would stop randomly denying my solutions...

Re: my problems list has an error
for 4 different problems I entered a solution (using my test account) with different sortings.
17,19 and 23 were accepted.
9 is refused several times....until about 4 times, then it was accepted.
And I checked everything.

Re: my problems list has an error
Could there be a problem with the "answer submit interval". If answers are posted too fast after each other the site simply says its wrong?

Re: my problems list has an error
I realised there was a problem just after midday and made some changes. I thought that I had fixed it, so could I confirm if this is still an issue or if it has now been resolved?
