Problem with 'max_user_connections' creates another problem

Today I received many error messages in sequence when I tried to submit a solution.

Could not connect to MySQL

I clicked many times on the refresh button of my browser and then I received another message like this ...

As you have attempted to submit an answer before the exclusion period had ended it has now been extended to 10 minutes.

I understand your frustration, but as you will see by the thread below it's something that we are working on:

I the meantime I've extended the number of answers you can submit in a one minute period to stop this happening to users. The problem is that the "answer hack" script operates before and outside of attempts to connect to the database. So refreshing the page will count as one submission even though your answer may not necessarily be checked.
