I received a message inviting me to some "Live Challenge 3", which originated from a new user. Anyone else received a copy as well?
While the level 1 user did solve a few problems, I don't expect mail to be sent like that in bulk - especially when a simple forum posting would do.

Re: Live Challenge spam
I did, too. www youngprogrammer com so it appears in the search results on the forum. Sounds like pure spam to me.

Could you PM the mail to me? Preferably with the entire header?

Re: Live Challenge spam
I sent him this email
You sent the following message to www.youngprogrammer.com at Project Euler:
Hi,
several Project Euler members complained that they received a message from you about a contest you seem to be recruiting participants for. Please be aware that not everyone is charmed by such unsollicited email.
If you want to make an announcement about something you think Project Euler participants may be interested in please use or bulletin board at http://projecteuler.chat/ instead.
Wishing you the best with your undertaking and trusting that you will not use our mailing system again for making announcements for your own projects,
on behalf of the Project Euler team

My hint is to remove them

Better still, all links in the forum should be attributed with rel="nofollow", to minimize the incentive for forum spam as well.3n1gm4 wrote:Am I too evil in thinking those links will provide him so many "free" pagerank? My hint is to remove them
