Ranking solutions (on the problem forum)?

Post by Mekk »

As this is my first post to this forum: thank you very much for projecteuler, excellent site and interesting problems.

I am relatively new projecteuler user, and I am catching up with old problems. So, whenever I visit a problem forum (after solving a problem), I find there 6, 7, 8 pages of comments. Too much to read, or even to scan in most cases.

Moreover, insightful ideas (like those proofs of correctness of approaches others use heuristically, or unexpected algorithms) are usually hidden deep below descriptions of brute-force approach, or similar solutions rephrased in different languages.

It would be great if most interesting comments could be somehow flagged, and - especially for old problems - one could filter comments to get only those most praised.

Possible interface: trivial "thumbs-up"/"thumbs-down" button anybody could click. Or anything similar (see slashdot comments, digg, or any other social voting applications)
