Problem 579 (View Problem)

I'm curious about the inspiration for this problem. It is very similar to a problem I wrote and published a few years prior, which I can prove. I think it's really cool that somebody might have seen it and written this problem, but I would kind of like the Bright Spark award...

Well, I actually found the same problem asked several years before my version of it, so it's not as original as I thought. Still curious though.
