projecteuler.net not reachable via IPv6?

Hi all,

since the recent server move, it seems like projecteuler.net claims to have an IPv6 address (2a07:7800::128), and this address is also distributed via DNS.

However, the website is not reachable under that address from my machines. At least on my end, executing

Code: Select all

curl -v -6 https://projecteuler.net --connect-timeout 10
yields a timeout, while running the same without the "-6" works.

This does not impact normal browsing (as browsers/resolvers then seem to fall back on IPv4), but some programs do not use such a fallback. More specifically, running

Code: Select all

ruby -e 'require "open-uri"; URI.open("https://projecteuler.net")'
in Ruby fails after a timeout, as the resolver doesn't use the IPv4 fall back.

Can anyone reproduce the IPv6 problem via curl or ruby?
