Problem Evaluation Progress

I was thinking of something like a sliding scale that goes from "Unlikely" to "Possible" in perhaps the Development section. This scale would only be visible to those who's problems are on the "landing strip", and staff members would move the slider according to the general optimism of the reviewers. As I am used to the ProBoards style, I don't know if it is possible to make it where a script checks to see if a user is one that has a problem on the "landing strip" and if so, it displays the appropriate problems with the slider scale next to it.

Admittedly, this is motivated in part by my desire to see how well my problems are faring.

Hi Elendia,
When a proposal is subjected it is first placed in our "landing strip".
When some of us have looked into into it AND it sounds promising the problem (or some other version of it) is placed in a password protected area and you are given access to that area.
You are then invited to participate in the development of the problem.
Recently I sent you a PM that that such was the case.

The idea of a status bar for something like this does not sound a good idea to me for several reasons.
We like active participation in the development of problem proposals we think could evolve in a good PE problem.
A status bar suggests two things:
-it should proceed to an end, suggesting that every proposal is a good proposal
-it suggests that you could sit and wait until the status bar inevitably reaches the end.

May I invite you to actively take part in the development of one of your proposals?

Why don't you put interesting proposals that won't be turned into a PE problem on the forum?

That's the proposer's prerogative, once the problem has been turned down. I did that myself with Pick Up Sticks.

Some suggestions I made haven't made it to a hangar yet, and the team could still be discussing it. Or not. So that's why a message to the proposer saying something like: "It's an interesting question, but not suited to be a PE problem. If you like, go ahead and make a topic on the forum about it.", would be nice if a proposal won't be turned into a problem.

Yes, when we know for sure, we will notify, however the problem is that we sometimes have so many proposals we're working on that any new one must wait until somebody can investigate it. We can't say anything before we looked into it, which might take pretty long :?
