In Problem 513 (View Problem), the side lengths are not precisely defined. It seems to use the assumption (or convention really) that a=|BC|, b=|CA| and most importantly c=|AB|. I think that should probably be made more explicit in the problem statement somehow.

As you state yourself: that is a well known convention .
Is there any need to repeat such a convention?

Just wanted to say that I did not know it, spent a day with weird calculations, and only after googling found out about this post. I strongly recommend giving this info.

Someone please give the lengths of side for the 3 triangles which satisfy to get F(10)=3. I get only one triangle for c ≤ 10

Simple brute force gives:
a,b,c (mc)
5,5,6 (4)
5,5,8 (3)
6,8,10 (5)

Well considering that I came here because I was confused, and another user got confused as well, yes it might need to be made clearer.

I agree that this needs to be clarified in the problem statement (I'm here for the same reason).
