I think we need more easier problems, just cuz it's more fun when u can write a nice short piece of code and solve a problem quickly.

To be honest, I like the hard hard questions. If I can chew on a problem for a few days it lets me exercise my brain more [while sleeping, driving, showering, etc] than if I just look at something and go: "oh, DP" and pound out a solution in 5 minutes and then go admire the tulips until next week rolls around. This is part of the reason I took a bit of a break recently -- to give some time for the problems to build up so I will have a constant queue of stuff to do without any downtime.

I've being doing these for years now, and still have 80 to go. Once I had less than 20 to go. All with U.S. High School math (1960s vintage) plus self taught via internet and library since retirement.

So, I can attest at least half of these are not TOO HARD, or this old man could not have done them. And that is allowing for luck as a possibility on the other 50% I've solved.

As boring as it may be, starting at the beginning may make later problems more accessible. A lot of my solutions came from new tricks learned "upstream." I read the solvers forums thoroughly, as there are usually approaches better than mine that may be usable later.
