Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
Getting really crazy bugs in the website. First it took forever to load. Now when I try to load the problems page (on multiple browsers, whether logged in or not), I get the following:
[edit=euler]Thanks for reporting. Details removed[/edit]
Followed by the problem list.
Same errors if I load the Progress page or any specific problem page. If I try to give or remove kudos in a problem forum, it bugs out and I get:
[edit=euler]Thanks for reporting. Details removed[/edit]

I'm getting this error when I try to load forum 363 (it went away on refresh):

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
It seems like the problems table is being rebuilt quite often lately. Is that a bug, intentional, or my imagination?

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
Hi,
first of all please excuse me by advance for my poor english.
I tried to connect on the website 10 minutes ago (17th march 2014, 8:20 PM Paris time), and I fell on a page with a mysql error. I refreshed the page immediatly (forgot to copy/paste the error sorry), and I was connected, so no harm.
The message was about too much connections on the mysql server (something like max_used_connections or max_connections).
I take this opportunity to thank Euler and all the people working with him on this website, it taught me a lot in mathematics and programming !

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
Thanks for the information, sarjevane. The website looks fine at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out.
Also thank you for your kind words. I hope you continue to learn new ideas and enjoy the problems.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up before. The problem is the apostrophe. Would you, or your fellow countrymen, object to it being called "Ivory Coast"?

That seems like the easiest solution, although I can't claim to speak for other Ivoirians...

I've made the changes. You should now be able to set your country as "Ivory Coast".

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
And about that error from sarjevane: I had it too, and it said:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: User projecte1_db already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections in /var/sites/p/projecteuler.net/public_html/includes/init_db.php on line 14
Could not connect to MySQL
Then I went back to the last page (also PE), and it happened again, then I refreshed and it was back to normal.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
The dark theme is very nice but the badges’ white should be transparent and the table should be inverted too.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
You're right. I had missed the background colour of unsolved problems in the dark theme "problems solved table" on the Progress page; it has now been fixed. However, the dark theme is not new. It is simply what members would have seen if they had clicked "Lights Off" (as opposed to the default "Lights On"). Unfortunately it is very difficult to make those images transparent which have already been created on a white background; normally images are created by artists on a dark or light background to start with so that the respective transparency works better.
There will be more about the themes shortly.

Nice.
The select by colour tool might help to remove the white part but the resulting image might be aliased.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
With the new themes, the nifty little feature which allowed you to compare problems solved with a friend seems to be gone. I'm speaking of the color hints in the Problems Solved section when you access a friend's profile page through your Friends list. I did check both the 'default' and 'dark' themes.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
Thank you for reporting it here. It was reported in another thread by someone else who clearly doesn't read the news! (c;
Anyway I think I've fixed it.

I can confirm that it is fixed in latest Firefox and Chrome.
Thanks for the fast response!

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
This isn't a bug, but I preferred it when the header was not fixed, can you please revert it to absolute?
Also, I don't see a link to the forum in the header...
