Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
I am not able to see the fastest solvers (of any problems). Example: this page is empty https://projecteuler.net/fastest=833

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
I just solved problem #837, and the green checkmark page informed me I just earned a new award, "Easy Prey: Solve the fifty easiest problems".
Well, yeah, I got that one about 6 years ago
And why's this showing up on a recent problem, not something in the archives? I have my suspicions, but don't want to speculate on them here.

Thank you for reporting that. I suspect that your suspicions were correct. Such a fool I am!
I think I've stopped it happening again, but I'm hoping I've not broken something else in the process.

When I tried to sign in, I entered the confirmation code, and failed. I tried it a few times.
Then, I asked for the confirmation code to be read, and it read a different confirmation code, that worked.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
That occurs when something is interfering with your browser handling session variables. When this has been reported in the past it has usually been identified as one of two things: 1) A browser plug-in (often a dodgy version of ad-blocker - there are many!), 2) The browser is in developer mode.
Try a different browser to see if that works.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
I don't know where else to post this, but in the solution thread for problem 7 (page 3) user melmoth posted two identical posts about 28 minutes apart. There is no reason for this user to have two permanent posts in this thread and take away from someone else who might have something to contribute.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
On mobile devices and tablets (possibly also on other devices) if the info icon is clicked near a problem description the popup that shows statistics about the problem cannot be closed unless 1) the page is refreshed or 2) the page is clicked precisely where there is some generated LaTeX code. Clicking or tapping anywhere else on the page doesn't get rid of the popup.

That's a fair point. I've removed the second post.Junglemath wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 7:42 pm I don't know where else to post this, but in the solution thread for problem 7 (page 3) user melmoth posted two identical posts about 28 minutes apart. Thank you for your second observation. I'll have a look into it when I have some time.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
On a related note, regarding the permanent posts, perhaps there should be some occasional "garbage collection" in some solution threads? Some posts are just random comments with no context or code, and sometimes there isn't even a user associated with a post (maybe they deleted their account?). I know the first 200 posts are supposed to be permanent but after 20 years there is lots of wasted space that would be more usefully served by more recent posts.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
I noticed a few weeks that the profile image link, https://projecteuler.net/profile/philiplu.png in my case, doesn't seem to work. It should show up in my signature automatically, and probably isn't currently working. Yep - it's not there in the preview.
It's not universal - I see the signature just fine in recent posts. But someone else, over on the discord, asked about this for their own link, which reminded me I forgot to report this when I first noticed.
If I click on the link over on the main site Account page, in the upper right, I get an HTTP 500 error.
Edit - one interesting datapoint. The other person reporting this is also in level 34, which doesn't seem to have an icon yet in the Levels page.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
Thanks for the heads up. You were spot on about the problem. It couldn't find the image for level 34. Something else I'd missed. Oops! Anyway, both should be sorted now and I've modified the script so that it doesn't have a tantrum if it can't find the image file.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
The website was down for maintenance an hour or two ago, and since it came back, at least two functions are broken. If I click on the number of solvers in the problem lists to see the list of fastest solvers, or if I click the pin in a problem page, I'm instead redirected to the archives page.

Thanks, both things should be fixed.
Sadly there is very little visible for members, but the downtime was to upload new scripts that have made some significant and necessary changes to the back-end of the website. As a result, there are likely to be more unforeseen problems like this, so please do report any other problems as they are spotted.

There shouldn't be any change there. As it explains in the privacy policy it can take time for the cache to update, but if you've made yourself private you should vanish on the next cache update.
Was there a particular table you're concerned about?

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs
Displaying the best posts in the problem thread doesn't work right now. In particular, clicking on the hearts gives https://projecteuler.net/best_posts=0001, which doesn't work. But manually changing the link to https://projecteuler.net/best_posts=001 gives a page that still works.
EDIT: Actually, it doesn't appear to be related to the url at all. I just need to manually refresh the page to get it to display correctly.
